The Gates in NYC.

Today was the last day to see Christo's Gates in Central Park. Check out www.christojeanneclaude.net. And it was a beautiful day. Gal pal #6 and I hopped on the NJtransit and then hopped on the subway headed uptown to view the gates. We started at 106 st., when I came up from out of the subway station I was looking away from the park, when I looked towards the park and saw the gates, my heart skipped a beat. No, really it did sometimes I get heart palpitations. Any way the excitement was so great I unknowingly let out a yelp. After being an artist for so long I am still surprised when something takes my breathe away. It was truly a surreal experience for me, at times I felt like I was floating through Central Park. Some will disagree, but I felt that viewing the gates was a great experience. Some of my friends poked fun at the gates, I am not a total priss, some things that were said was funny. But the bottom-line is I know what ART is. And no matter how simple, meaningless, or silly a certain piece of art is or may seem, it is still art. By definition art is beautiful, or thought-provoking, or something created by human endeavor (the gates was all that and thensome) ... blah, blah, blah... I just want to say don't miss another great experience because you are not open-minded.

Guys! The laundromat is not a pick-up joint.

It's like a snow globe outside and It's Flag Day in Mexico (hola, mí bambinos).
I was at the laundromat earlier... guys please... no makeup, no shower, hair not done, dirty clothes= dirty girl... I am not feeling attractive right now, leave me be.
It's movie time. Instead of cuddling up by my lonesome and watching a movie at home, I choose to venture out into the snowy world to watch a movie in Red Bank, NJ. Some friends of mine are appearing in a couple of indie films (Milking the Chicken + Shadows Over Sugar). Check out www.silentseaproductions.com. We pack in a load of friends and head on a half hour trek- the trek was hella fun; listening to music, jokin' around, talking about co-workers, and trying not to get into an accident. Anyway fun-fun, the indie films were great for what it was (low budget films with talented/amateur actors), the director has potential, the plots were weak, there were a few excellent actors that stood out, and over all it was just great to see people you know on the big screen. Good job guys!

Tummy's

It's 7ish Wed.- I just got off work and I must run home, scarf down some food, watch "Lost" and "Alias" and then venture out to Tumulty's Pub. It was risky but I had a beer on the way to Tummy's (I love to drink in the streets), I was 2 seconds away from getting caught by a policeman driving by. Whew. Wednesday night is open mic night and my friend is performing (we'll call him guy pal #2). I arrived at 11:30ish- totally missed my friends performance (he goes on early to get it over with, he gets a little stage fright) maybe I'll catch him next Wed. So I'm hanging out with gal pal #8, guy pal #2, and #3... we're chewing the fat, drinking beers, and watching the other bunch of talented amateurs. Next stop Glo (cocktail lounge), but only for a second- just to say hi to a friend that works there (and for me to get a peek at a very handsome bartender (hott≈ness). Okay, now next stop the Harvest Moon, where we met up with gal pal #2. Gal pal #2 is a little peeved, because she is being stalked.- Nothin' a beer can't cure- So we chugged a lug and talked about the crazy stalker. Next stop McCormick's (swanky dive bar- swanky... right) on the other side of town. McCormick's jukebox is the soundtrack of my life. -I am drunk- So I do shots with gal pal #2, yada, yada, yada -closing time- "Last call for alcohol, happy hour is inforced by law" Gal pal #2 and I head to a brief after party as the rest of my posse dissipate into the night. Whew. Am I still alive.

Chick Flick.

wedding date

It was soft, sweet, yet at the same time funny. A true "chick flick". It wasn't soft enough to make me cry- just enough to get me misty and think about meeting Mr. Right, falling in love, getting married, making babies, etc...
okay... okay... now I gotta go and make pillow soup...

Another sorry loser.

Once again Rutgers Lady Knights have punished another team (54-36). So so sorry Boston College... try again. Its senior night and the last home game of the season and just like the seniors I am getting a little misty eyed because I will also miss the RAC (rutgers athletic cente). Go Knights!!!

Roz out staged?

We open on Saturday night 10ish-- Roz is out again, she partied till 9am this morning and its still not enough for her. Roz is joined by two friends (we'll call them gal pal #6 and guy pal #1). Scene one starts in an always crowded Clydz dungeon- bar/restaurant, Clydz is know for their very extensive martini list. It was packed like sardines in there- so they swiftly slurped down a couple of drinks (Roz had two green tea martini's (yum yum)) and headed to the next location. Scene two starts at a crowded Gaebels- another bar/restaurant but with a different crowd. Gal pal #6 likes to call it a Guiasian crowd (Guidos/Asians.. is that wrong to say). Anyway Roz lost track of the amount of drinks they consumed and next thing you know she was on the dance floor gettin' down and dirty with some guy (we'll call him strange guy #2). So as Roz and strange guy #2 bounce & tongue from dance floor to dance floor time is running out. Gal pal #7 joins the gang and suggest a new location. Roz gets strange guy #2's digits and leaves him dancing by his lonesome. Scene three opens at The Court Tavern (our favorite dive bar)... after they all order drinks its last call. They all mingle in a little conversation, gal pal #6 is getting a little rowdy so they finish their drinks and leave. The 5 minute walk to the car seems like 40 minutes because Roz is toasted and gal pal #6 is mucking around. Gal pal #6 is WASTED, a giggly-chatter box, and is in her own little world... she has truly out staged Roz tonight, with her innocent drunkeness... this is rare, Roz will never let this happen again!

Roz's Forte

3 shots of grapefruit vodka... Roz is revving up. After a failed attempt to scrape up a posse to join her out tonight, gal pal #1 comes to the rescue. And off they dash out to the Court Tavern. Risk Relay is playing and that is at the top of her agenda. At the Court gal pal #1 doesn't want to go downstairs to see the band (what!) (some boy drama). So Roz has to bounce back and forth, up and down, which way and side a way, whatever. Risk Relay are a very talented bunch of guys they seem to always pack the house. Roz barely saw a full set before she ran into a friend and was whisked off to the Old Bay (we'll call this friend gal pal #5). So Roz and gal pals #1 and #5 are at an extremely crowded Old Bay -some band is jamming like crazy. The band normally would not be Roz's forte but she was now on her 6th or 7th vodka & tonic (who knows how many shots), she was feeling the band. Last call... where is the after party? Roz, gal pal #1, gal pal #5, a few friends, and some guy Roz picked up (We'll call him strange guy #1) headed to the after party. The party was super jam packed Roz whittled her way to the kitchen, "the gas is on", Roz announced to a kitchen full of drunks, "what do you mean", someone said. Roz reached for the stove dial to turn it off. Roz was praised by several tenants and she became Mayor of Kitchen. Out of beer. Roz and her new found posse planned their next move. Roz and strange guy #1 -made the beer run, while the others set up camp somewhere else. Roz phoned gal pal #1 to find the new party location, but she didn't answer (what!). So Roz and strange guy #1 decided to take the beers and go back to her place (make out time!), just as Roz arrived at her place gal pal #1 called back (interception) (or cock blockin', whatever). At after party number 2, Roz tried to force down a beer. Then Roz took a nap (passed out) on the couch. Roz woke up around 8am (or was it 9) she's crazy... sometimes I think she suffers from drunken narcolepsy.

Would you rather lick a corpse from head to toe or tongue kiss an 89 year old man...

Thursday!... Thirsty Thursday @ the Old Bay? I thought I would go since I took a break on Wed., but I received a phone call from gal pal #4, "what are you doin' tonite?", she said. She wanted to go to Hoboken and see the band Jones play, I really wanted to stay in town, but after 1.5mins of her trying to convince me I was convinced (I am such a pushover). The show was going to start at 10pm -someone was going to pick us up at 8:30 -it was set. I had a few hours to kill so I decided to eat (its a fun activity I like to participate in sometimes), I ate at Cluck U- two thumbs down, BOO! Do you guys ever have fresh wings? Any way I met up with gal pal #4 at her house to wait for the ride. At her house other friends were there we watched extreme makeover (that show is amazing and totally gross at the same time) and played a game, I think it was called "would you rather"(?). You tell me -would you rather eat a bottle cap or eat a spider that's the same size. -would you rather chew off someone's mole or drink a half cup of your best friends blood. -would you rather save a neighbors puppy from drowning or save a man that's convicted of murder. I chose the puppy for that one... is that wrong? 8:40 came and the ride has not arrived or called yet, what's going on. 9 ish the ride finally calls. "I am sick", she says and now she can't give us a ride, (nice time to call girlie) who does that? Time is running out... and suddenly a friend comes to the rescue and we borrow her car to rush to Hoboken. whew. Gal pal #4 and I arrive at the Whisky Bar in Hoboken, just in time. It was an okay bar, Jones was great. I've seen Jones a few times, but I've haven't really seen them. When they play in town at the Moon it's so crowed and I am usually so distracted (or wasted). It was great to finally really see them (I have been missing out), it wasn't so crowded at the Whisky Bar and they have a good sound system, it was like my own private show. Mucho Nice.

Soul Cycle Rocks!

Yes, as promised I went to the Old Bay Tuesday night (Soul Cycle plays on Tues.). At the Bay I hang with gal pal #2, there was a different crowd compaired to thirsty thursdays- more relaxed, chill, but a gal like me needs this type of balance in her life. Soul Cycle is an excellent musical experience- funky soul jazz! I am always happy to see them, good times.

Will you be my Valentine?

It's St. Valentine's Day and I am in a funk, not necessarily because it is V-Day (and I have no true valentine), it's just that rainy days on Mondays always gets me down. I spent the day doing laundry, banking, giving out V-Day gifts, and text messaging my valentines... fun, huh! Later that night I was on my way to dreamland when I received a phone call, "come out to fun land, we're @ the Moon"... Off to the Harvest Moon I went (Mon. nights is acoustic night) where I was greeted with XOXO, a rose, and some booze. I wanted to be tame so I didn't (tried not to) overindulge in booze, but I still managed to stay up to 7am... three hours later... off to work I go. I was a wreck the whole day and I lost my cookies twice, and because of drunken promises I have to do it all again tonight! Oh mi vida loca...

Let's Go RU!!!

Saturday flew by, but it still didn't stop me from going out. It was a fun/calm/chill night of drinking beers and conversing with friends till the wee hours of the morning. Sunday @ 2pm ish I went to brunch at Rafferty's (delicious) and then off to the basketball game I went (its my new passion, I am truly addicted), Rutgers womens played UConn. This was the best b-ball game I have ever seen, my heart still races as I think about it. As you all know UConn is our arch-nemesis we haven't beaten them in 7 years. Our fans were cocky, rowdy, and rabid (what!) from the beginning and we crushed them, not a huge crush (76 to 62), but a crush nonetheless... Excellent job girls!!! Don't stop, get it, get it!!!

Still Friday...

Okay its midnight and I have been half sleep half watching TV when I received a phone call from a gal pal (we'll call her gal pal #3). She wanted to borrow a movie (a make-out movie, you slut!), and since I have been Blockbuster Video for the past few weeks, I lent her one. During the renter exchange I received another phone call from another gal pal (we'll call her gal pal #4). She was having a party... I know, I know I said I would NOT go out tonight, but it is now morning, and I am up, and, and... Anyway at the party I drank beer, I played DJ via ipod, I drank beer, I met a lot of nice people (since I only knew about 6 out of about 30 people there), I drank beer, I chewed the fat, I did the worm, I drank beer, then I took a nap on the couch (passed out). Thank you all for not putting my bra in the freezer, (what???) or writing on my face with a permanent marker. Good times.

I am so, so tired...

It's Friday, Friday, Friday you heard crazy Roz was out last night. I don't know why I am so tired (and why are my hands callused), I am NOT going out tonight. Off to work I go...

Bore no more, ha, ha, ha

Roz loose again! Lock your doors! Last night was thirsty thursday/80's night @ the Old Bay. Roz and her gal pal are off again, this time the place was jam packed. Upon arrival Roz was greeted by numerous friends, long lost friends, acquaintances, and strange men. Chewing the fat, here and there. Roz fished down several vodka & tonic's (a couple of shots) and she was loose on the dance floor -dancing and grinding with anyone that came her way. When closing time came Roz was shouting, "where IS the after PARTY!" Time to go- Roz was like Dorthy in the Wizard of Oz, because she had collected several mates to go on the ultimate quest for an after party (which is never hard to find). On arrival to the after party Roz and gal pal #2 (gal pal #1 was M.I.A) made a beeline for the basement -for thats where the tunes where coming from. POLE!!! POLE!!! Oh yes there was a pole in the basement. Roz was in her natural habitat, she spent the rest of her night hogging the pole. You go! Take it off!

Thursday, February 10, 2005

A bit of a bore.

Roz was out last night! She started in her room drinkin' bottles of Sam Adams, watching Alias, and listening to 1450 WCTC (Let's Go RU!!!) Roz has an affaire de coeur with Jennifer Garner (not...she just loves Ben!).
After playing musical friends Roz finally settled on one to go out with. Midnight came so fast, Roz and her gal pal rushed to the Old Bay. There was a crowd but it was still dead (if you know what I mean). Roz had two UV cherry flavored vodka & tonics (what!). 1:20 came, "let's go to Marita's" said Roz. Off they went to a crowded Marita's which had already called last call (damn it) "Let's go back to the Old Bay" said Roz. And off they went back to the Bay which had acquired a few hot boys (yum yum). They followed these hot boys to an after party and drank and flirted the night away...
Roz was so tame... good girl... whoof.

Round 2

I watched The Grudge last night, it scared the living day lights out of me (whatever that means) and thats exactly what I wanted, I watched it alone in the dark to hype it up a little, because I LOVE TO BE SCARED, somebody SCARE ME, PLEASE, I love it! It wasn't the ultimate horror flick, but it did me good. Its no Mothman Prophecies, which I DO NOT recommend watching alone in the dark, because it will freak you out so much the you will have to take a Xanax and rock/cry yourself to sleep with your thumb in your mouth while clinging to your teddy-bear, in the fetal position, and wake up the next morning in a wet spot. This didn't happen to me but it happened to you and you know who you are.

hello, its me 1st post

...and it was all yellow... Super Stupid Bowl, I am so tired.. I don't feel like going to any parties. I'd rather stay in the hood and eat buff wiings on my own time. Where is Roz? Maybe she'll come out later.
